Mini-Album: Once upon a dream…

I haven’t done “cutesy” layouts in a long time and it was fun playing with the pastel colors again. I bought this mini-album specifically for Charlize’s 1st trip to Disneyland (the castle shape is oh so appropriate!).

It’s a good thing we started our relocation with a trip to Disneyland. You can see the change in Charlize. She is such a shy girl but when she was with the princesses she came out of her shell. We we’re amazed at how she just talked to them like they were her long-time friends! Saying she had a blast is an understatement. It was a magical time for all of us. And here’s sharing our happy memories….

Father’s Love

Here is a LO I made for my husband to celebrate his being a father to our 9-month-old boy, Zach. I love the outcome although I made it in less than a day (which is not like me coz it usually takes me several days to finish one) and had to keep hiding it from him coz it was my surprise gift. (Good thing I have my basic grey magnetic mat, it’s easier to grab everything in the LO without it flying everywhere. (Forgive me for plugging one of our products). 🙂

I applied the techniques and styles I learned from Ms. Nita and Ms. Cabbie during the demo they conducted at the fund-raising event last March.

I altered the fonts to coordinate with my pp by painting and stamping and then I applied a thin coat of diamond glaze (which by the way I saw Ms. Timi did in one of her LOs). I also applied acrylic paint on the edges of the photos to make it look softer, this I learned from Ms. Nita.

Love the outcome of this one, it added dimension to my LO. I learned this stitching style from Ms. Timi again but I had to use Bazill Basics Flourishes template to do it. I am not very handy with the needle and thread. 🙂

I would like to thank you ladies for sharing with me your styles, techniques and the products you used to create your beautiful LOs. Hope to learn more from you.

Journaling:

It is a wise father that knows his own son.” William Shakespeare

Today we are celebrating your first FATHER’S DAY. Zach is very lucky to have a father like you. Although you don’t know how to change his diaper, or feed him or give him a bath but you surely know how to make him laugh and most importantly, your LOVE for him goes deep within your heart.

Happy Father’s Day Honey/Daddy!

Love,
Ping and Zach

I used DCWV cs, Chatterbox pp, KI Memories lace paper, Colorbok Cb, All About Scrapbooking Cb fonts (altered), K&Co Clearly Yours Alpha, MM Acrylic paint, Color Box Fluid Chalk, Diamond Glaze, Bazill Basics Flourishes Template and various ribbons from local fabric stores.

Thanks for viewing, ‘til the next LO.

One Little Word: ONE

A layout for my baby coz today (June 11) is her birthday (and I really couldn’t resist submitting another LO for the OLW challenge 😉 ). So here it is… Happy Birthday Chiara!

Journaling reads:

It’s amazing how you, the tiniest in the family, can command attention with just this look.

You get into this mood when things are not going your way. This look, most of the time, is accompanied with crossed arms and a resounding “NO” to everything we say. We have to conceal our amusement at your antics.

The good thing, though, is this mood doesn’t last long. Before we know it, you’re melting our hearts with your smile & this has become just… ONE of your many moods.

Stamp “One of my many moods” reads: Mood du jour, The power of a Girl, oh, don’t mind me. i am just trying on moods.

Materials- Cardstock: Bazzill; Journaling page: Making Memories; Flowers: Prima; Ribbons: by the yard from Prints (Singapore); Stamps: Prima (flourishes) & Inkadinkado (One of my many moods).

Adventure: Asia

Here’s my latest layout:

This layout is about the places we lived in and visited in Asia. I have 16 pictures in different sizes, so inspired by Ali’s memory board (Creating Keepsakes’ June issue) I decided to use pockets for my layout. Plus, I wanted to use my TAB puncher! 😉

This is my first 2-page layout and the simpliest. I used black cardstock (Bazzill) as the background, printed my journal on vellum paper (The Paper Co.), used different fonts (American Crafts, Plaid DANCING wood letters, Cuttlebug alphas Curls & Swirls, Olivia and Fancy Pants) and played with Fancy Pants‘ Bella Brush clear stamp with Dew Drop Brilliance pigment ink (Pearlescent Rust + Starlite Silver) & DecoArt acrylic paint (Black) for the wood letters. The rub-on was from daisyd’s Naural Beauty set and the patterned papers are DCWV‘s Luxury Stack (the map pp I got from an Art Shop in Singapore). I also used a roll of native fiber ribbon for the pockets. Now, here’s a peek at the pics!
